Sunday Rose now has a little sister. Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman and her musician husband, country star Keith Urban, welcomed a new bundle of joy into their household on December 28. Faith Margaret Kidman Urban was born via surrogate at Nashville's Centennial Women's Hospital.
"Our family is truly blessed, and just so thankful, to have been given the gift of baby Faith Margaret," the couple said in a statement to People.com on Monday. Kidman and Urban appeared at Sunday's Golden Globes, but never mentioned the baby to the press. "No words can adequately convey the incredible gratitude that we feel for everyone who was so supportive throughout this process, in particular our gestational carrier."
This is the second child for the couple, who married in 2006, and the fourth for Kidman. She has a daughter and a son, Bella, 18, and Connor, 15, from her previous marriage to Tom Cruise.
"You know how you dream as a girl ... I'm one of those people. I would meet a guy, then I would imagine myself married and with kids within the first hour," she recently told Harper's Bazaar about her views on marriage and family. "But it worked out."
In the interview, Kidman also opened up about being a mother now. "I think I have more patience now but less physical energy. It's a trade-off. In your 20s, you're bounding around, they're attached at your hip, and you can just go and do anything. But I'm much more of a homebody now," she explained. "My roots are deeper."
