After a whirlwind year of making friends in the music industry, Justin Bieber is intent on pulling out all the stops for his sophomore album. Not only has the 16-year-old singer recently collaborated with Rascal Flatts, he's also talking about linking up with some hip-hop heavyweights including Kanye West, Drake and Chris Brown for future collaborations, according to manager Scooter Braun.
Bieber's manager took to a chat room Tuesday to speak to the pop star's legion of Beliebers about his new music, speculation about a romance with Selena Gomez and the celebrity lineup for Bieber's "Never Say Never" movie.
"Yes, Justin is working on new music," Braun teased after playing a clip of a new Bieber song, which he said may drop on Valentine's Day. "He's been talking to Drake about new music. [Bieber] and Kanye had a call today about a song they're trying to work on together. Kanye wants to produce a bunch of new songs for the new album. He's talked with Rascal Flatts. Him and Chris Brown have been sending stuff back and forth to each other."
And you couldn't have a fan chat without fans inquiring about Bieber's reported romance with Disney starlet Selena Gomez. Braun kept tight-lipped on the issue by not mentioning names, but insisted that the duo are no more than friends. "Everyone says I'm ignoring a certain issue that you all want to know about," he admitted.
"Everybody wants to know something. Here's what I'm going to tell you. This kid travels a lot and I always told him, I was always like, 'You shouldn't be in a relationship unless you can give someone everything.' I know that him and the person you're asking about are really close friends and have been for awhile. As far as I know, that's what they are."
As his manager and friend, Braun did confess that he's told Justin to "stop answering the single question" as it'll lead to a lack of a private life in the future.
Whether or not the Biebs is in a relationship, the teen sensation is adamantly focused on his rising career. The pop star's next big project is his Jon Chu 3-D documentary "Justin Bieber: Never Say Never," which hits theaters on February 11. Braun revealed that the film will feature guest appearances by Sean Kingston, Usher, Jayden Smith, Boyz II Men, Miley Cyrus, Kobe Bryant, Drake, Ludacris, Johnny Depp, David Beckham, Will Smith and Snoop Dogg.
